My students need wall maps in our classroom.

You mean Germany is that SMALL? Belize is a country? Is Alaska a country? It's bigger than Germany!

My classroom needs large maps to see where we are in the world, who our neighbors are, and how far it is to other countries. My students need to see the continents and the countries that make them up, as well as the oceans and how much water there really is on Earth. My students need to be able to find far away places that occur in their books and stories that we study in class. By locating these places on the map, we are expanding our knowledge of the world, its climate and features, and this knowledge will help us to further the understanding of the setting of our stories. New wall maps will help us with our Texas History. We will get to see how far the German immigrants traveled to reach the coast of Texas, and then with the United States map, we can further explore their journeys. We will see where Stephen F. Austin and his Old Three Hundred traveled to settle in our great State, and we will see where the great battles took place in Texas History and its participation in the Civil War. Maps that are large enough for my class to see will make our learning a journey that we will not forget.

My students love to talk about places and what they know about them, but sadly a lot of them have never been on a vacation and cannot locate places of interest on a map. I truly believe that having these wall maps will expand their knowledge of Geography and love of learning.

It will give them a better understanding of our world and spark their interest to learn more and more about things they find intriguing. Maps often open doors to struggling students who find no real interest in everyday school subjects, so your donation will help everyone find a love for learning.
