Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Junior chemistry students come from a violent high poverty area in Illinois. Our school is lacking many of the resources that are available in higher income districts. The availability of these resources would have an tremendous impact on student achievement.

One of the biggest challenges facing a chemistry classroom is making abstract content accessible. Without an LCD projector to show videos, students cannot visualize how concepts work in "the real world". Therefore, it is imperative that students SEE examples and work visually with content to make it come to life. Students need the concepts in this class to help them prepare for the ACT, college, and the marketplace.

We NEED an LCD projector to help us get the most out of this year's science objectives. As a teacher, I can only perform limited demonstrations with so few resources at my disposal. An LCD projector is the answer to this problem!
