I teach a first grade class in the Inner City and have found that they are enjoying our new music teacher. This is the first time they have had music at our school in several years and we do not have enough materials for a whole class to participate. I find that they are more attentive and eager if they have their own materials to use. Many of the children have never had or seen hand bells but have developed a quick aptitude for them.
By donating these hand bell to our class all my students will be able to participate at the same time. They will be able to share with other classes as well. It is heartbreaking to see little faces so eager to try their hands at music only to be told they have to wait. The interest is so apparent. Please help make this year a music experience that may change the lives of countless children by funding our small grant for these bells.
With these hand bells the whole class can perform for parent meetings, other classes or just themselves. The delight on their faces and the music they produce will liven up our school and the lives of these children.
Please think about how music has touched your lives and allow these students the same opportunity. Let them experience different kinds of music and make the walls ring with their happiness and songs. Thank you.
