A Very Sucky Project -For a Dust-Free Classroom

My students need a vacuum cleaner, Swiffer dusters refills and Swiffer wet cloth refills.

If you live or work in any of the boroughs of New York City, you're very likely to be surrounded by construction. This is the case with our school! A school Annex is being built as I write, and dust, grime, soot and noise are constantly filling our room. While there's not much we can do about the noise, we can definitely attack the dust that settles on our books, floors and furniture. Our room is cleaned weekly, however, the dust creeps inside mercilessly. If there is one area that needs daily cleaning, that's the carpet in the meeting area. We sit on the carpet, sing, dance and read on it, half of our day is spent on or around it. I have to admit it gets quite dirty. Unfortunately, a vacuum and Swiffer wipes and dusters are not priority items on an already-reduced and insufficient school budget. Every year, my students' parents, my Principal and I purchase a sum of cleaners and disinfectants, hand sanitizer and other items to keep ourselves healthy. We truly need and would greatly appreciate your help in acquiring a vacuum and the Swiffer products. In addition to the "apple-a-day" that would keep the cold away, we plan on working hard to have a healthy and productive school year. We thank you in advance for your kind and generous donation to our very "sucky" project!!
