"Basketball motivates our students! My high-need pre-K through fifth graders live for the game of basketball. They constantly want to play and often offer to perform their responsibilities if they can shoot hoops.
My elementary school has two basketball teams - that is how much they love basketball. Pre-school practices drive them to work hard and keep up or improve their grades. They want to play in class, during lunch and during recess. We need to fulfill their thirst for the City Game.
A basketball cage that can hold 20 balls will make them more accessible and also free up cherished space in our small closet. Being able to accommodate our students better will make them very happy and serve as rewards for their hard work.
Your donation will put many smiles on our students' faces. You will also help many students increase their physical activity levels. We have an obesity problem in our school and we can use all the help we can get to overcome it. Thank you!
My students need a secure storage for their basketballs. They live for the sport and we have a tiny closet that cannot accommodate the basketballs we constantly use.

Dear charmaine, JoAnne, Jaime, M. Giant and M. Edium and Perry & Donna Golkin Family Foundation,
How can a letter convey the joy that your gift has brought to my students? I do not think that it sufficiently can but I will give it a try. A simple tool such as a storage facility for our basketballs has enabled our children to smile all the way from me to you. They achieve success and learn about practicing to improve. Our students compete against and cooperate with each other. Additionally, easing access to such a popular activity has opened up opportunities for us to purchase and store other items that we frequently utilize. Your gift has been truly beneficial.
As you may or may not be aware, New York City is experiencing a severe budget crisis. The state has already cut the city's school aid and we hear ongoing talk of further cuts. Your generosity has made it possible for our students to enjoy a sport that they love while also helping me maintain as stable an environment as possible so the children don't feel any cuts in resources. These are great things.
Thank you so much for your generous gift. I hope this letter managed to give you an idea of how much my students are enjoying your donation. Donors like you make children's dreams come true.
With gratitude, Mr. B.

Dear charmaine, JoAnne, Jaime, M. Giant and M. Edium and Perry & Donna Golkin Family Foundation,
Holy cow! I am so thrilled that you are presenting us with this generous gift. It feels so amazing to know that there are people out there who value public education and who want to help children reach their potential.
This basketball storage unit will come in handy in so many ways. Our school physical education program will use it frequently as our students love to play basketball. We will now be able to easily take basketballs outside to the schoolyard. Additionally, our basketball team – we play in an unofficial league against other elementary schools to teach the students valuable teamwork and sports skills – will be able to use it for both practices and home games. I know the children will get so much use out of it. Our students face so many obstacles to leading healthy and active lifestyles and this generous gift will help them overcome some of those obstacles.
Your gift will become a vital part of our physical education program. Thank you so very much. I can't wait to see the students' faces when they see it!
