My students need 20 copies of "The Secret Garden" and 30 copies each of "The Indian in the Cupboard" and "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe".

As children read good books...POOF! Their worlds are transformed, as they dive into the adventures of the many amazing characters they read about. This is just the case for the students in my classroom. I teach a third, fourth, and fifth grade, multi-age, gifted and talented class. Through the use of these powerful novels, students are taken on whirlwind escapades as both the settings and characters undergo remarkable transformations!

My goal for students is for them to "get hooked on books"! To make this happen, I need to provide them with outstanding literature, which wraps them up in the lives and worlds of inspirational characters. The transformations happen both within the books and within the students, as they become lifelong, avid readers.

In order to meet this goal, we need 30 copies of "The Indian in the Cupboard" and "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, and 20 copies of "The Secret Garden". This way, each student can read his or her own copy of each book and make personal connections to characters and events.

You will make it possible for my students to learn to love reading! With your help, they will develop a passion for literature, as they devour these spellbinding books.
