My students need a storage shed, vests, trash bags, and gloves to keep our recycling program going at our high school. We currently have no place to safely store the recyclables, and several tools need to be replaced.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
A unique way of learning is one way to describe the students in my classroom. You see, my students are moderate/severely handicapped students, and yet they all thrive to put forth their best selves every day. Fairfield is a city that is high gang activity and violence, and while that does effect a small group of students on campus, it does not define who we are as a whole. We are a No Excuses University School and thrive to teach our students that they too can achieve greatness both during their high school career and beyond!
My Project
At my high school we thrive to keep our campus clean, and to recycle as much as possible. Unfortunately, over the years we have had to move our recycle sorting and collection station several times to accommodate school development and growth, and as a result this school year we do not have a dedicated space to store our recyclables before we take them to the recycle center.
In addition we want to start recycling at big school events, and to do that we need to make recycling convenient and easy for our guests, so we are requesting the easy to use collapsible recycle containers, and bags to go with them.
We could also use new Nifty Nabber recycle grabbers to pick up bottles and cans on campus. Also, when we go to the recycle center to turn our recycle materials in for money there are safety concerns in regards to broken glass and visibility, so we have also requested rubber gloves and reflective vests to make our trips safer. We use the money that we get from recycling to fund activities, such as, field trips, cooking activities, and more!
