"I teach eighth grade United States Studies in a high-need community. The students that attend my school are faced with daily challenges of cheese(new heroin drug), pregnancies, gangs and family struggles. The students need a safe and comfortable environment. The school is celebrating it's 50th birthday this year! Unfortunately that is how old the cooling system is. The Texas heat in the classroom makes it hard for my student's to focus and remain productive. My students are in need of an air conditioner to lower the affective filter in the classroom and create a learning friendly atmosphere. In a high pressure middle school environment students only concern should be preparing for excellence in high school. Your contribution will ensure a comfortable and productive working environment. A classroom that students will want to spend time after school in for tutoring, projects, and learning. This project will help students for many years to come!
My students need a window air conditioner.

Dear *, Gina, Rebecca, Carolyn, Anna, Sarah, Lenny and Anonymous Donor,
Thank y'all so much for donating to my project! I remember when I was a student in a low SES middle school with amazingly dedicated teachers. They inspired me to follow in their footsteps. I chose to take a job at this school because I believe all students deserve dedicated teachers. I am overjoyed and jumping up&down with the prospect of not having my students suffer in the heat any longer. The students will now be able to learn, discuss and think in a comfortable environment! It is amazing that something so basic like the room temperature can change the mood of an entire class. The air conditioner is an incredible gift that will give to many generations of students for years to come!
My students are going to be in shock on Monday. I can't wait to receive the Air conditioner unit and finally beat the Texas heat! Thank you so much! With gratitude, Mrs. L.

"I gave to this project because I can't stand that schools today can't even afford necessities for the classrooms."
"I gave to this project because in the words of South Park's Chef, "We got to help the children!""
"Thank you Anna and Lenny for your generosity. The children are going to be excited once we reach our goal and I can't wait to share their joy with you once we're there. Students need a proper environment to learn and your gracious support is helping create that. It means so much to me and I can't wait for us to share in the students' success! Chef would be proud."

"I understand how not having the right tools can limit your educational possibilities so by giving to your cause I am helping each student overcome a limitation. I encourage the students not to give up and pursue your dreams! To the students: You are and will continue to be phenomenal!"
