This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach eighth grade United States Studies in a high-need community. The students that attend my school are faced with daily challenges of cheese(new heroin drug), pregnancies, gangs and family struggles. The students need a safe and comfortable environment.
The school is celebrating it's 50th birthday this year! Unfortunately that is how old the cooling system is. The Texas heat in the classroom makes it hard for my student's to focus and remain productive.
My students are in need of an air conditioner to lower the affective filter in the classroom and create a learning friendly atmosphere. In a high pressure middle school environment students only concern should be preparing for excellence in high school.
Your contribution will ensure a comfortable and productive working environment. A classroom that students will want to spend time after school in for tutoring, projects, and learning. This project will help students for many years to come!
