What could a child really create given the opportunity and materials? The fifth grade would like to be given the opportunity to show what they can do. This would be technology that could be used across all academic classes to create fun, educational videos and presentations that will be visual representations of culminating activities in all academic areas. Our school prides itself in trying to always give our students the education that they deserve. We have five fifth grade classrooms equaling 98 students. This would allow for one camera per class.

Technology is such a critical skill needed by all in order to be successful in today’s world. It is important that we teach our students these crucial skills and give the opportunities to practice what they have learned. Our students have shown an interest in learning to produce quality videos using the latest technology. Our students want to work with video cameras to create their own personal representations of what they have learned. This means that our students will need the necessary equipment.

The five RCA Small Wonder Digital Camcorders will be used by students to create end of the year scrapbooks, individual and group projects based on all subjects areas, and visual representations of skills they have mastered throughout the year. These students will be taught the necessary technological skills so that they can utilize the camcorders along with many different computer programs such as PowerPoint, Word, and Photo Story 3.

If you choose to help my students I want to personally thank you. You will be working with me and other teachers like me to give these students the materials to accomplish personal goals they have set for themselves. We, as teachers, can give opportunities, but we need your help providing the materials. These students will be grateful for the chance to learn technological skills that he/she will not only be able to carry throughout their education, but also in his/her personal life. These skills that you will be helping us build are life skills. These students will be able to have hands-on experiences with technology. When you help support students, you are helping support the future and the future workforce. These students could go on to be program designers, marketers, business owners and possibly have a position in your organization.
