This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
Hey everyone! I am a kindergarten teacher who teaches at a school in Louisiana that services an area of town that is considered high poverty.
A lot of my students don't have real life experiences outside of their neighborhood, and they learn a lot from the things that we read in class. It would be so nice to have this puppet theater and puppets so my students can act out the stories that we read each day in class. There is so much that they can learn about the story, and I can learn about them by using these materials.
My students would really benefit from this puppet theater. They could use it not only with the puppets to act out the stories that we read but also when making up their own stories. It can also be used during math time as a store or as a post office during social studies time. There are so many ways we could put this to use!
I think that having my students act out the stories will keep them focused and keep them from acting out in class! Your donations will help my students remember that learning can be fun!
