It is important to teach students to love our living environment so that they will take care of it. Our children are the future for our environment so they need to know how to respect and take care of the earth. This is my second year as a general education teacher in a high needs district and I am in need of many new resources to make learning fun and to help children learn and understand basic science concepts.
One of the major 4th grade units based on learning about plants and animals in our living environment. Just reading about the environment in textbooks can become boring. Science should be hands-on and investigative. Science centers should be engaging, meaningful, and fun.
My students need hands-on resources and games to use during centers to bring the learning alive in the classroom. We have microscopes at our school but no prepared slides. I am requesting prepared slides with plant and animal specimens. My students also needs games and books to reinforce the vocabulary and content during center rotations.
These science resources will provide my students with hands-on experiences with the living environment. By donating you will help ensure that my students can master important science concepts about plants and animals and that students can learn to love their living environment. Thank you for considering this project. We greatly appreciate all of your support.
