This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
I teach Kindergarten in a low economic area. My classroom consist of 20 students. We are very diverse- 7 Hispanic, 4 White, 1 Pacific Islander, and 8 African American children.
The cassette player we currently use has broken. There is no money in the budget to allow us to buy a new one. We used this cassette player everyday - listening to music or for our listening center. Now we do not have one.
I would like to replace the broken cassette player with a new CD & Dual cassette player, and a CD library from Lakeshore. By bringing the music back into my classroom it will inspire young imaginations and reinforce essential skills. My students will be able to participate in fun songs and activities that would help them develop listening skills, build vocabulary, explore rhythm & movement and much more. They will also be able to once again walk into the classroom while soft inviting music is playing.
Thank you so much for considering this project. My students would be so grateful for this.
