My students need two 40 gallon recycling receptacles.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Caputo's classroom raised $372
This project is fully funded
I teach students with moderate to severe disabilities at a high school. I serve students in the 9th to 12th grade. These students are very special kids and are always looking for job opportunities to help them build their self-esteem and abilities.
My students have moderate/severe disabilities and are currently in charge of the recycling program at our school. They love to go around two times a week and collect the recycling. It is important to them and myself that these students learn a job skills while helping the environment. They are always seeming to pull out of the paper recycling bins plastic bottles. Our school does not have enough recycling bins to collect and recycle plastic bottles.
By having recycling receptacles at the school and being able to distribute them throughout the school environment and classrooms, they could learn a job skill and actually recycle a tremendously large number of plastic bottles at the same time.
Think about the environment today and the impact this project and "job" will have on the environment later! It like having the cake and eat it too!
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
