In order to help my students make sense of the judicial process, and begin to build their civic vocabulary, I would like to have my students perform a mock trial. In my classroom, Goldilocks will stand accused of breaking and entering. Teams of student lawyers, press, jury members, etc., will bring the courtroom into the classroom.

To do this my students will need several educational books that explore the judicial system. I am also requesting an easel and time line chart to assist in the legal proceedings.

Your donation will provide us with the materials needed to help foster understanding and respect for the legal system and the rule of law by:

-promoting greater understanding and appreciation for the law, court procedures, and the American judicial system;

-improving basic life skills, such as critical thinking, communication, and advocacy skills

-improving communication and cooperation among community members, including students, teachers, government leaders, law professionals and citizens;

-increasing appreciation for the principle of equal justice for all;

promoting an awareness of current legal issues;

-promoting the exchange of ideas among students from throughout Wisconsin while

-providing a fun, rewarding and memorable experience of interaction.

-fostering teamwork, collaboration, and cooperation among young people of diverse interests and abilities.

My students need one government photo book set, a time line pocket chart, an easel, easel paper and 3 books, including "A Day in Court" and "The Cupcake Thief".
