This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a 3rd grade teacher in a full inclusion classroom with a diverse group of students. It’s my desire to meet the needs of all of my students, including those who have trouble focusing. As teachers, we do the best we can with the resources we have (supplied personally and by our district). We reuse, recycle, reinvent, recreate and share ideas/materials with each other. Sometimes, however, innovative ideas require the help of others!
I want my 3rd grade students to be on the ball in reading, math, and writing and what better way then by providing exercise ball seating. All teachers search for ways to promote learning and engagement in their classrooms. Creating a motivating, engaging, and creative learning environment is always on the top of my list! Can you help make that happen?
I’ll need 10 exercise balls to make this innovative idea an opportunity for ALL of my students. I currently have 6 exercise ball chairs and the students constantly fight over them!
Eight and nine year olds are quite energetic and movement is a key part of the learning. For students who struggle with attention issues, allow me to create an exciting, motivating, ‘active’ alternative to the traditional classroom seats. The ball chairs will be used during instruction or independent work time so that students can learn and release energy at the same time. Your support is the only way I can provide the materials to test out the success of these balls with ALL of my students. Your donation would help my students stay focused in class. I have seen the ball chairs work in my classroom and would like to provide this opportunity to them ALL.
I am appreciative of any donations given to my classroom and ensure they will be put to productive, meaningful use on behalf of my students. I’m eager to try out this innovative idea. Research shows that students learn in multiple ways. Please help me reach my kinesthetic learners!
