My students need 3-D maps, landform study prints and a small rock/mineral specimen set.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. C.'s classroom raised $205
This project is fully funded
We are a very small, rural school of only 141 total students (K-12). I am the only science teacher serving grades 6-12. I teach Biology I, Biology II, 6/7th Grade Science, 8th Grade Science, and Geology. We are in a high poverty area with 74% of our students on free/reduced lunch plans and a high proportion of native American kids.
This is my first year in a public school after teaching for 13 years at the college level. I chose to come to this small, underprivileged school in order to make a difference. This is our first year to offer Geology as a physical science option, We have very limited budget for supplies to enhance the learning experience for our students. I believe that with a few carefully selected materials we can better engage the children with better hands-on experiences.
The solution for our Geology and general science classes is to acquire some basic laboratory materials so that our pupils can have interesting, captivating laboratory exercises. For geology, this means rock and mineral specimens.
Our donrs can make a real difference for these students by providing them with something better than text books; specimens to make their lab activities real and practical.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
