Crochet Club

My students need 12 sets of crochet hooks and 70 balls of yarn.

My students are already asking me when the Crochet Club will begin this year! I am the Science Specialist in a high-need school. Most of my students ride the bus to school and then have to sit in the hall for 45 minutes before school begins. Two years ago, I started a Crochet Club and opened it to any students on my hall who wanted to learn to crochet. I had many boys as well as girls using this early morning time to keep busy with crocheting. We wanted to get good enough so that we could donate hats and scarves to the homeless. However, most of the students wanted to keep the items they made.

We have no supplies in our school for crocheting and the children are "on fire" to learn. One or two children have brought their own yarn and hook, but we have a very high free/reduced number of students, and they simply cannot afford the hooks and yarn.

A variety of crochet hooks and acrylic yarn will keep my students occupied for many hours this year while waiting for the school day to begin.

Your help will enable my students to learn a life skill that they will be able to use for years. If they get good enough, they might even be able to donate items for others less fortunate. I have so many children coming daily and wanting to know when we will begin this year. Can't you please help???
