My students need kitchen tools, such as a griddle, waffle maker, blender, toaster oven, cooking utensils, plates, and silverware.

I have a class with 5 special education students. They are in 4th and 5th grade; however, they are functioning at a kindergarten to early first grade level.

The classroom is new to the school. The classroom will be for students from 4th to 8th grade and we need to prepare them for life with activities that will increase their independence.

Because this classroom is new to the school, we have no resources to teach independence. We would like kitchen tools such as a griddle, waffle maker, blender, toaster oven, cooking utensils, and silverware. These resources will allow students to learn and practice cooking skills. Once we have the tools we need to cook, we can begin making recipes. We also want to invite the regular education students in the class next to ours to join us monthly. We know that this will increase peer interactions between the regular education and special education students. This will also allow the students to practice reading, math and independence!

You will make it possible for my students to gain a self of independence because they will be able to follow recipes in the classroom.
