My students need 5 copies of 10 guided reading books for our classroom library, such as "A Week in the Woods" by Andrew Clements and "Where the Red Fern Grows" by Wilson Rawls.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach 6th grade at a Charter School in Chicago. This is a high-need community, we are short on many materials.
I am starting out as a 6th grade teacher in a Chicago school. My students love to read but will not have the chance to read without books in their classroom library. With many of these students ELL, reading helps them with their language skills while bringing out their creativity and imaginations.
By having sets of guided reading books all level of my students can be matched with high interest books that they can succeed with.
Your help will make it possible for my students to become better life long learners and to succeed in school.
