Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

Hi there!! I am a 2nd grade teacher from a transient school in Georgia. We are a very diverse school and we have trailers for classrooms.

The donation I am asking for will be for books on various levels for my very diverse classroom. I have a very limited supply of books and not meeting the needs of some of my students.

Reading plays a big part of our school as for education in general and I want to make sure the students are reading on their own level. The more enjoyable the things they read are, the more they'll stick with them and develop the reading skills that they'll need for full access to information in their adult lives. I want to make sure I have a variety as well so they find something that interests them. The books I chose range from comical: 'Teacher from the Black Lagoon, to very informational, such as the, 'Weekly Readers' which will help the students in Science, to just plan fun reading, such as, 'Petunia' and many more.

You will help my students become better readers and also better citizens. Thank you so much for your time and consideration.
