My students need chapter books to improve literacy including Magic Tree House books, Bad Kitty books, My Weird School books, and Judy Moody books.

My Students

Our classroom is a place where students feel comfortable taking risks and being challenged to think critically. Our classroom is filled with comfortable reading areas that assist in fostering great readers. I would like to provide texts beyond textbooks that offer high-interest reading.

My students are diverse in every sense of the word.

Most of them come to me with a love of reading, but some just haven't found the genre they love to read. I have some students who love to be seen and heard and others who are quiet and shy. My school is supportive of its teachers, and I am proud of my community and school district.

My Project

The books I am requesting will allow students exposure to rich vocabulary through different literary genres. The series of books that I have requested are books that our school library cannot keep on the shelves. These are the books my students are always wanting to check out but aren't available at the library. I would like to have these book series available to my students in our classroom library.

Having these books in my classroom library will better prepare my students for secondary education and college level courses by raising the rigor in the classroom.

Students will have reading choices that help them make connections with real-world events, allowing them to gain the vision of being an avid reader.
