This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
We love to play games! In my 1/2 day kindergarten class, we love to play games and learn how to get along with each other! My school is located in a community that has a high-needs population. Many of my students have never been to school before and entering my classroom is their first experience in a school setting.
Being able to play games is such an important part of early childhood and many of the children that are in my classroom have never had the opportunity to play a board game. Their families lack the financial resources and time to purchase and help them learn how to play simple games and how to take turns and share.
I would like to purchase 15 games to begin a collection of exciting games that would help my students learn how to take turns, share, and follow directions. These skills are important to have for their kindergarten year and beyond. With these important skills, my students can extend them to other areas both at school and at home.
Your help will ensure that my students have the materials needed to play games in small groups, learn how to share, take turns and how to get along and talk with others.
