Increase Physical Activity at Home

My students need pedometers to help them learn how to track their physical activity.

My Students

Out students are not getting enough physical activity outside of school. It is our hope that this project will teach them how to better track their physical activity and learn how they can be more active at home.

We are a kindergarten through 5th grade elementary school.

We have approximately 400 students have a diverse population of students coming from many different backgrounds. Over half of our students qualify for free or reduced lunch. Our students show a passion for learning.

My Project

•The pedometers will be used for take home P.E. assignments where students will track their physically activity for a week at a time and record the results in their P.E. e-portfolios. •Students will then develop a plan for how be more physically active at home. •Students will then track their activity levels with pedometers again to compare. •The pedometers will also be used in class activities to teach students how to track their activity levels

•Our students are not getting enough daily physical activity outside of school.

•This project hopes to teach students about their physical activity levels outside of school and how they can improve them.
