My Students

My first grade students LOVE to learn! They are passionate readers and writers. When it is time for math I can feel the excitement in the room. What we need to further engage these enthusiastic learners is more technology!

The students at my elementary school are the best!

Our school is located just outside of Atlanta. We have an extremely diverse population of students. Many of our students have immigrated from countries throughout Asia and are English language learners. At our school, students strive to be leaders each day and work hard to build their character as well as their knowledge.

My Project

My students need an iPad and a case. In my classroom, I use a workshop approach to learning. I meet with individual students or small groups daily. When I am conferencing with students, my other students have opportunities to use technology as a learning tool. I would love to have an iPad in the classroom so my students can access various learning apps. These apps can be tailored to fit the individual needs of each student. Students will also be able to create project individually and work collaboratively. Think how wonderful it would be for students to be able to create their own movie about American Folk Tales, or explain what plants and animals need to survive. This can all be accomplished on an iPad. iPads in my classroom will also be used for blogging. Just imagine how exciting writing will be when you write a personal narrative and your friends or family members read and respond to your writing. iPads will make learning fun!

Technology in the classroom will create 21st century innovative learners!

First graders will be motivated, engaged and ready to learn with an iPad in their hand. Math games, spelling activities, reading and writing engagement, and project development all at their fingertips. In the mind of a seven year old, this would be the BEST type of learning! Let make school fun!
