Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students love to read and love to be read to. I would love for my students to have a great reading center where they can relax and open up their world of imagination.

My students are a group of 4 and 5 years who are experiencing school for the first time.

My kids (as I call them) are full of life, questions, and personality. There is never a dull moment in Mrs. Andrews' class. My school is an arts infused school that caters to a wide variety of students.

My Project

I am requesting a rug to place in our new reading corner. We currently don't have a rug in place so this will give my students a designated area. I am requesting new floor pillows that the students can sit, lounge, and lay on. Having new pillows and a rug will not only make the reading center cozy but will help create a cozy and comfortable learning environment. We are currently using the central rug and tables for reading and the materials requested will help us have a new reading nook.

The requested donations will help improve my classroom by providing a new comfortable reading nook for my students.

It will change my students way of learning by giving them somewhere to relax and open a book.
