Wii Want to Just Dance

My students need a Wii console, remotes and battery chargers, and a Just Dance game as a way to increase their fitness levels.

My Students

By using the Nintendo Wii and the popular Just Dance games, I am hoping to motivate reluctant participants to be active and increase their fitness levels.

My students consist of sixth, seventh and eighth grade boys and girls.

Some of the students are reluctant to participate in class, especially during competitive games. Many of the students have taken dance classes outside of school for many years and have expressed an interest in the dance component of the curriculum.

My Project

My students will be able to use their Physical Education time being active and engaging with classmates in an area of strength for them. Using a familiar platform will encourage participation as they are able to engage in challenging choreographed moves with their classmates.

The students who are not the best runners, throwers and catchers will have an opportunity to show off their skills in another area of Physical Education and be more active participants in class.
