This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

We need to have the right tool if we want to get the job done right in the first place! My Geometry students are in need of the right tool for the construction of Geometry figures in the classroom.

I teach in a school where students who come from poor families turn themselves into scholars within the four years they spend in the building which is serving 1500 plus kids each year.

At the end of the four years, most of our graduates will be heading to college and changing their lives forever. Over the years, I learned to love my job as I see that I play a very important role in kids' life and we are helping them to step up in life.

My Project

My students need compass sets, protractors, and rulers for Geometry class--constructions. Without compasses and straightedge rulers, students in my Geometry class will not be able to learn the basic constructions, which is very important concept for the common core Regents exam. The idea of a classroom set of the tools will help me with the lessons daily on the topic because the work has to be precisely done using the right tool and it is just not something that we can share in groups of four. Hands-on activities are essential part of my lessons. We will need each student to have access to a good set of tools in class.

Your donation will help me to solve the challenge of not having anything for the construction lessons.

My students need to learn how to construct 20,40, 90 degree angles with them and also things like angle bisector and perpendicular line segment bisector. Your donation will have direct impact on my lessons and we are in urgent need of these materials. Thank you very much for helping our kids in need.
