We are on our way to a fantastic school year! After taking an inventory of what I saved from last year, we do need painting paper, a variety of alphabet and number stamps, and laminating sheets to improve our centers and preserve the students' work.
We have an extremely diverse student body, both ethnically and socioeconomically.
We teach our children to be respectful, responsible, and safe, valuing hard work and effort. As a fine arts school, our children have an enriching arts program, but like many other schools, a shortage of funds is creating challenges in the classroom and we are spending a great deal out of pocket to create enriching and comfortable learning environments.
My Project
Kindergarteners are tough on materials. That's why we laminate almost everything! So we need heavy-duty sheets that will hold up to frequent use. Additionally, the large painting paper will allow the students to create large works of art in the painting center as well as practice drawing and painting letters and numbers. We create many collaborative classroom books throughout the year and the large paper will be useful. Lastly, the variety of alphabet and number stamps will be incredibly useful as the students can stamp, trace and write different words.
Center work in kindergarten creates opportunities for children to work in small groups and practice skills independently.
These materials will make center practice more fun! The large paper can be used in so many ways and the stamps will be used for years to come.
