This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are learning how to design their personal webpage.
My students are in high school, grades 9-12.
Our school has approximately 625 students. My students are young adults in training. They work hard in and out of the classroom. They like to socialize. Some of them are attending the same high school as their parents. We are known locally as a football powerhouse. This is my second year at this school. This is the second time I will be teaching Multimedia and Webpage Design. Last school year was a challenge but my students cooperated with me. We worked together and everyone was comfortable sharing their skills with each other.
My Project
Students will be able to manually sketch their ideas for webpage. They will scan their storyboards for their webpage using the flatbed scanner. They will write code based on their storyboard to complete the webpage. They will generate a hardcopy to see how the webpage will look when printed, in color rather than black and white, to see what a visitor sees when they view their webpage.
It is very important to make projects relevant for students.
They will get a real world experience by using a colored printer and flatbed scanner in developing their website. They experience what web developers do.
