What Do You Mean There is No Such Thing as a Brontosaurus?!

My project needs 23 up-to-date books about dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures because out collection is sadly outdated.

Students from the Air Force Base and others attend our Title One elementary school.

We are working hard to bring our sadly out-of-date library up-to-date, but books are expensive. Many of the dinosaur books in our collection had to be discarded because they held misinformation such as brontosaurus really existed, which shows how out-of-date parts of our collection are since it was announced in 1974 that there was no such thing as a brontosaurs! One lesson explores concepts of time, and it includes asking students to identify five dinosaurs which existed during different portions of the Mesozoic Era: Triassic Period 225-195 million years ago, Jurassic Period 195-135 million years ago, and the Cretaceous Period 135-65 million years ago. Follow-up assignments ask students to pick one of the previous dinosaurs and research what it looked like and how it acted. Create a table showing what dinosaurs were herbivorous and which were carnivorous. Create an accompanying chart showing ten modern animals and identifying which were herbivorous and which were carnivorous. Draw in sequence, the life cycle of a dinosaur and of a modern day reptile. Sequence your list of dinosaurs from smallest to largest

We need books about all sorts of dinosaurs to satisfy the demands of our students. The twenty-three titles selected will allow students to complete their research as well as encouraging them to read.

Please help us in our competition for our students' time, because in our multi-media world often television or computer use wins over getting comfortable with a book and reading. Books about dinosaurs however, encourage students to read as they love to learn about these intriguing creatures as well as helping them learn to do research.
