This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

When I introduce a new project in my classroom, my students are very excited to get started. Their effervescence is infectious.

My school is in a struggling neighborhood amid housing projects and homeless shelters.

My kids deserve so much more than they receive. They are smart and talented and curious. Most come from difficult home situations where electronics are not the norm. I'd like to give them access to modern day technology.

My Project

I'd like to start an art blog with my students as the authors of all the entries. Since a tablet is portable, we'd be able to pass it around as students have an idea to add. I would be able to teach them Sketchbook Pro and Photoshop Touch so they could create pictures to be inserted into our writing.

It would be wonderful to give my kids the opportunity to learn about computer graphics.

It's a field they've never been able to dabble in due to the budgetary constraints at our school.
