My Students
my art room is a busy place where students create art with a wide range of materials. Together we change and arrange our studio to keep it exciting! the creativity is overflowing!
My students are great!
They are very creative and together we use their creativity and excitement to learn.
I work in a Per-K to 5th grade title 1 elementary school with a very diverse population. Our students are proud that their older brothers and sisters went here and had the same teachers.
My Project
Papermaking is fun! together we will learn about the differences of reuse reduce and recycle. we are starting with where our trash goes and how we can reduce our personal waste. Then we will use 100% school used paper to create our own new paper to use in collages inspired by artist James Castle who is famous for his use of soot for paint everyday found materials like cardboard from cereal boxes and junk mail as well as his inability to speak or sign.
These supplies will help my students learn how to create and recycle at the same time (and for many years).
We learn that creativity can reduce waste ! we learn that people can overcome handicaps! they learn that they can make a difference.
