Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Saving our students is the goal at our Middle School. We are a school that is transforming into a Fine Art Magnet School. This is our first official year.
Our school was considered "unacceptable" due to state standards two years ago. By beginning this focus in fine arts we are hoping to open many more doors to our students. We are holding them to a higher standard because they are a part of the magnet program. We are hoping that by raising the motivation to come to school, we will be raising our overall performance in the classroom.
My students have not had the opportunities to take dance, music, theatre, or art classes outside of school. This is all a new, amazing opportunity for them!
As the dance teacher I basically have a room to teach in. There is also no money for me to purchase things I need to hold my classes.
SO I NEED HELP.
A ballet barre is a great start! The students will be able to learn basic dance techniques by having a good ballet foundation. Then we will be able to expand into so many other areas of dance.
We are a dance program ready to soar! We need to get off the ground first!
