Hello! I am a kindergarten teacher in a low-income school. My students love hands on experiments and activities although materials are always lacking. For the past two years critical science lessons have not been taught due to missing materials. My students only receive science instruction once a week from a science teacher and I am to provide them with the rest of the curriculum in my own classroom.
I would like to enhance my science instruction by creating a science discovery center as well as engage the whole class in science excursions that will be exciting, engaging and of course educational. I hope that someone out there is a stupendous scientist or loves discovery based activities and is able to give my students an opportunity to be the scientists they yearn to be.
By purchasing magnets and magnifying glasses my students will be able to discover and satisfy their curiosity to learn more then they ever imagined. We will use the magnifying glasses as early as September to examine the changing leaves and the penny! As we complete the exploration of the concept of sink and float we will be able to begin new units with these materials on magnets, the life cycle of a frog, plants, and the butterfly.
Please help! My students love to utilize hands on manipulatives. Their learning will be endless. Thank you donor in advance for your consideration. We look forward to your help in becoming stupendous scientists!
