Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am the physical education teacher in Houston, Texas. We have an enrollment of 580 students with 98% of the population on free or reduced lunch. All the students come to me for participation in physical education. Equipment we currently have is old, worn out, and outdated. The budget for physical education is very limited. I would like some equipment that the class room teachers and I can utilize for both indoor and outdoor activities. An exciting new "sport" is called Speed Stacks, or Sport Stacks. Team or individuals stack and unstack 12 specially designed cups in pre-determined sequences and race against each other or work on their personal best. Speed stacks allow for inclusion of all the students. This activity is great for ambidexterity, quickness and concentration, while using both sides of their bodies and brains. Also,a resent study has proven that sport stacking improves hand-eye coordination. My colleagues and I would greatly appreciate your assistance in helping fund these colorful speed stacking cups. Thank you.
