Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The children at my school have no library they can go to to get books. Help them discover how FUN reading can be by funding their class library.

My students are sixth graders attending a charter school in California.

They come from primarily low-income families, and several are English Language Learners. They are AMAZING, hard-working and caring students who need your help to make it through middle and high school and on into college.

My Project

With these books, my students will be able to read for pleasure. They will be able to choose books that they think sound interesting and, hopefully begin to develop a real love of reading. Additionally, I requested an overhead projector cart, as our school has only a few projectors and the cart would help us move them from room to room. These projectors are incredibly important, as they allow for clearer explanations of material and more interactive lessons.

My project is important because LITERACY is the gateway to success.

In order to become truly literate, my students need to read a LOT. Give them the resources they need to practice their reading skills and succeed in school.
