My students need your help to conduct water quality studies. The Marine Environmental Studies Program that I teach is a very unique program which offers 12th grade students the opportunity to learn about the Bay from a 20' Boston Whaler and from the shore.
Students have been great sports this year, wearing waders with holes in them during water quality studies, but much of this research in performed in the winter, so wet clothing it not a valid option for us.
We need 7 pairs of waders so students can measure the stream flow rate and collect water samples. The school cannot buy the waders so if we don't get the funding, students will not be able to perform this important research. Students not only use waders for the water quality study, but also when using a seine net in the bay and digging hard shelled clams.
We have such a unique program where students use the Bay as a classroom. The School Department has continued to fund this project for the past 36 years, but now the budget is tight and we need your help. Students gain so much from our fieldwork, please consider helping it continue.
