Exploring Our World..Bringing Science to Young Learners

My students need liquid discovery tubes, iron filing discovery disks, a TV microscope, a root-vue farm set and a wheel of life set.

Our kindergarten class is part of a newly formed public school system. We are in the deep South.

Because our school system is only two years old, our resources are extremely limited. We returned to school following Hurricane Gustav to find ourselves unable to order basic supplies due to budget issues. Our school buildings are very old and technology is limited.

We need hands-on science materials. Your donation would provide Liquid Discovery Tubes, Iron Discovery Disks, a root farm, and life cycle discovery wheels. Students in a hands-on science program will remember the material better, feel a sense of accomplishment when the task is completed, and be able to transfer that experience easier to other learning situations. Your donation would also provide a Zoom Scope TV Microscope, which would allow students to project and share their discoveries with the entire class. Children will be able to explore and share using our available technology. This is critical for students who will live in a technology-based world.

Your donation will make a huge impact on our learning and development. These Science resources will create opportunities for children to explore science and math concepts. This will give them exciting ideas for reading and writing,along with excellent opportunities to incorporate good books. Without you contribution, our class will not have the materials or supplies to "be scientists".
