My students need frogs and a gecko along with the terrariums to keep them safe in order to inspire learning!
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Sviben's classroom raised $209

Hands-on learners looking for supplies!! We are a small Charter School of 185 students! Our school focuses on an accelerated curriculum in hopes to inspire children to learn. We go above and beyond the state standards.
We are beginning a designated science classroom this year and we need supplies! This room will be used by every student in the school at least once each week.
Although most teachers realize that hands-on science is the key to learning, many teachers are afraid to try it because it is something they are unfamiliar with or they do not have the resources they need.
The school is funding the basics, but that is not what inspires children to learn! Students need to get excited about science and realize that there day in the science lab is going to be full of excitement and learning.
One way to create excitement is to expose children to live creatures. Most of our students have not been exposed to animals in this kind of setting.
Having frogs and geckos along with fish and plants will motivate students to want to come to the lab to check on our pets. They will realize that science can be as easy as making an observation.
I am trying to create an environment that students are excited to come to. The typical lab setting can be frightening to some students. By adding tree frogs and a gecko I hope to encourage students to look at the world around them and observe the plants and animals that they come in contact with on a daily basis.
