Learning about geological time can be very boring! I would like to provide my students with hands on labs and visuals in the forms of posters.
I teach an amazing group of middle school students who love learning and are striving to become leaders themselves!
They love to read and I would like to provide them with books that will inspire them to greatness. My students are hard workers and devour information.
My Project
With your help, I would love to provide my students with hands on geological time labs (10 in all), a fossils poster and a geological time poster. Geological time can be very abstract and the only resources we currently have is video and Internet research. I would love to make this concept more concrete by providing my students with actual labs that illustrate the concepts that they must learn. My students need hands on lab equipment for their study of geological time, and two posters of fossils and geological time.
Students who listen and see might learn a new concept, but when they are able to use their hands and create replicas of key concepts they are 90 times more likely to remember what they have learned!
