My Students
Have you ever tried to understand the difference between fold mountains and dome mountains? Have you ever tried to explain to a student the different types of landforms without a model?
I teach fifth grade at a public school in Utah.
My students come from a very diverse population covering the spectrum of needs. We have students in our class with severe disabilities, all the way to exceptional abilities. We have a growing ELL population. These students are some of the most creative and amazing students that you will ever have the chance to work with.
My Project
These landform models will provide hands-on experiences and help for the visual learners as they try to understand the layers of the earth. Each of the four models will not only show the landforms of the earth, but will visually show the students they landforms that occur on the earth's surface. ELL learners and special education students, along with the visual learners will benefit from this project by being able to see and feel the earth's landforms.
Your thoughtful donation will help these students learn about earth science in a way that is better than a lecture.
The manipulatives will provide support that a teacher can not provide. Students will be able to see and feel the different land forms on the models.
