My students need 25 safety goggles, an algae set, bullfrogs, and a book on the anatomy of the frog. My students asked to explore frog anatomy and compare it to human anatomy. I want to provide them with the opportunity to compare and contrast how we are alike and different.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Decker's classroom raised $294
This project is fully funded
I teach a 5th grade class that has a passion for science. They are constantly researching and looking for answers to their science questions.
Our school has just boarded the 2008/2009 science train and we are extremely limited on supplies and equipment. These resources will help in the students science explorations. My class has a passion for Florida's living things. On the second day of school, while we were exploring the science tools we have, the students discovered the "bug boxes" which are magnifying boxes. The hands went up and students were asking to take them home to capture bugs to examine. I now have wasps, spiders and daddy long legs being examined and compared/contrasted in class. Within the first week they were asking to explore and examine other creatures. This grant would enable the class to explore their interest in anatomy and provide them with hands on experience. This experience will provide them with the confidence to explore other sciences throughout their academic career.
The school needs safety goggles and this grant would provide a class set to share throughout the intermediate pods for experiments. The frogs will provide the students with hands on experiences. The algae kit provides background information on aquatic environments. The frog unit will provide students with an appreciation of living creatures and their purpose in the food chain.
You help will ensure that my students conduct science experiments safely. The resources will provide science experiences that the students have been asking for and have a passionate interest in. I am asking for your help to inspire and encourage our future scientists.
