My students need 24 safety goggles to protect their eyes while performing experiments in the classroom. Six flashlights are also used quite frequently during labs and we need Readers Theater Script Boxes for grades 3-4.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a teacher of students in the third grade my students still have inquiring minds. My class is composed of students with and without disabilities in the state of Florida. They need lots of hands on activities to assist them in the understanding of abstract concepts.
My students are extremely interested in science. With the adoption of a new science series came lots of materials to do classroom experiments, however, some basic materials were not included, such as the safety goggles, which are required for all experiments. This year I simply had to ask the students to be extremely careful and to not place their faces too close to the experiment.
With the use of safety goggles needed for the safety of their eyes, my students will now be properly equipped to perform their science experiments. I am also requesting a set of flashlights which are required for several experiments and a reader's theater kit which will assist in practicing reading skills. This will transfer to all other subjects.
Your help will ensure my students are properly equipped for the science experiments that they love and perform throughout the school year.
