My Students
We can't see! The math and science manipulatives in our classroom are too small for whole group instruction and too few for individual and pair work! With the Elmo Teacher's Tool Document Camera we can make our learning large enough for all students to learn at the same time.
My students attend one of the largest elementary schools in our district.
The majority of students attending our school receive free or reduced lunches due to the high poverty rate. One third of the school population are English Language Learners, some coming from refugee camps or having family members who have. These students deserve quality learning opportunities and materials that will enrich their experience here at school.
My Project
With the Elmo Teacher's Tool Document Camera my third graders will be participating in many new learning opportunities. My students are creative and dedicated writers who will now be able to project their writing for classroom use. They will share strategies for story telling, organization, spelling and be able to participate in crit sessions that include praise, suggestions, edits and revisions.
In science and math students will be able to project 3D objects for whole group discussion. Our class lacks enough materials for all students to have their own set of manipulatives in most cases and this will give us the opportunity to share and see them easily. We will be able to interact with our learning on a daily basis and benefit from each others' thinking. The use of the Elmo Teacher's Tool will increase deep comprehensive classroom discussion tenfold.
My students love the investigation processes of learning.
We recently started a unit on the human body and I had children literally climbing over things to get to new classroom resources. With the Elmo Teacher's Tool in our classroom we will be projecting those learning resources onto larger screens that we can all share instead of fighting over the materials. Help us to access our education together versus a first-come, first-served basis.
