My Students
Help! The mini glockenspiels I inherited in this classroom are about 50 years old and falling apart. The kids can't pick them up without parts falling off. They need new bells to learn to read the notes on a staff. They also need to be able to see instruction on a whiteboard/blackboard.
My students attend a K-5 school in high-poverty Pennsylvania.
They have not had a consistent music program for the past 10 years and I am working on developing a new program and classroom. They are wonderful children who are extremely talented, but need an outlet to explore that talent.
My Project
My students will be able to apply what they are learning about rhythmic and tonal notation on an instrument. They will also learn how to harmonize with each other on these xylophones. The students will have a more thorough knowledge of improvisation and harmonization.
This project will have a huge impact on my music classroom.
The students will be so excited to see a room filled with instruments that they are able to make music with. When this project is funded they will be so excited!
