The availability of literature that reinforces math skills has increased dramatically in recent years. I try to include literature in all of my math lessons so that skills are reviewed and applied through interactive picture books. Not only is being read to fun, but it demonstrates to my students that reading skills and math skills are not isolated - they complement and support each other. This is my fourth year teaching third grade and I have been lucky to accumulate a small amount of math-themed books in my classroom. However, most weekends I spend making trips to the library to pick up the books I need for the week. It would be wonderful to have the books available in my classroom for my students to read and reread whenever they want. I am asking for a classroom library of math-related literature for my third grade classroom. With your help, my students' math skills will be reinforced through reading activities!
