My Students

You know that excited feeling you have after finishing a great book, or learning something new all on your own, and you just want to share it with anyone who will listen?

The students in my class love to read anything they can get their hands on and share what they discovered.

While the majority of the children are independent readers and a few are still trying to master this skill, they all enjoy sharing the knowledge they acquire. Our classroom, however, has limited space and storage to house a large classroom library or many computers.

My Project

The students will be able to work independently, and in small groups, to listen to a large variety of book genres. They will be able to access various reading, mathematical, and STEM applications, at any time of the day. With the addition of two iPad minis, not only will the students have more choice in what they read, they will also be improving their fluency, comprehension, research and problem-solving skills.

The variety of reading material that will be available in the classroom would be much greater than just having a traditional classroom library.

Students will be able to improve on their personal reading goals, increase their math fact fluency, and use STEM-based applications to practice their problem-solving and engineering skills. The iPad minis will provide them with a wealth of information at their fingertips and all without ever having to leave the classroom.
