World Changing Supplies Needed!
Funded Mar 12, 2014I can not begin to thank you enough for your donation to the World Changers of Room 27!
My students were ecstatic when they received their ACT Prep books. I even witnessed multiple students start bringing their books to school daily and working on practice problems during their free time. Additionally, the seniors in my ACT Prep class are loving Cal Newport, and the many strategies detailed in his books on how to succeed in college. I have watched them read, annotate, and highlight key parts during Independent Reading time.
The students of the Mississippi Delta are some of the most deserving in this nation, and without your help their ability to get to college, and flourish in college, would not be a reality. Thank you so much!”

Funded Nov 19, 2013My students are SO excited about dissecting the frogs this year! They have heard the rumors from last year's students about how unbelievable it was to look at the anatomy of the frog, and they can not wait to dissect! Additionally, many of my students want to join the medical field and are looking at the dissection as their first surgery! Without the help of donors like yourself this dissection would not have been possible!
My students come from an impoverished Mississippi Delta community and funding for science education stops at the the $349 provided each year for lab equipment. Being able to dissect frogs is something that would hardly be possible with the funding provided by the school, and because of your generosity 150 students now have the opportunity to explore the anatomy of a frog!
Thank you so much again!”

Ms. Moore
Practice Makes Perfect!
Funded Sep 30, 2013Thank you so much for your generous donation to the World Changers of Humphreys County. We struggle throughout the year to find funding for even the simplest supplies. Paper and markers to practice the skills that we use are hard to come by, and we often have to slow class down to find new markers during whiteboard practice, or switch out dried out markers. The paper has allowed us to print out more labs and homework than ever before!
When we received the whiteboard markers and reams of paper my students faces lit up! They knew that we would be able to practice our skills more efficiently. They also knew that more paper meant more labs! The ability to have the available paper to print out labs allows my students to fully take control in the lab. Instead of having to read the instructions step-by-step, because of a lack of paper, students can read directions on their own and execute their lab as college students.
In order to ensure mastery, we often practice using personal whiteboards and projecting questions on the board. This cuts down on the amount of paper that we have to use, and allows me to instantaneously check for understanding. The new whiteboard markers allow us to constantly work to achieve mastery. Students love owning their learning and receiving instant feedback!
Thank you so much again for providing these deserving students with the ability to learn and love biology!”

Ms. Moore
Curious About Kermit? Let's Dissect!
Funded Mar 5, 2013You have all made such a huge impact on my students this year and I am so incredibly grateful that you made the decision to donate!
The scientists that I teach LOVED getting the opportunity to dissect a frog! The ability to explore all of the levels of organization from the tiniest cell to the digestive system allowed scientists to dive into the reality of what they learned all year! Many students were so excited they said they were considering going into the medical field!
Additionally, not only did you give my students this year the experience to dissect, but we are also going to be using the same dissecting pans and probes NEXT year to dissect a frog AND a fetal pig! Your donation will impact over 300 Delta students! We are very thankful that you chose to donate to our classroom!”

Practice Makes Perfect!
Funded Oct 11, 2012Thank you so much for donating to my project! My students desperately need these resources in order to be successful in Biology 1! Each day my students come to school ready and eager to learn. However, the limited amount of paper and lack of expo markers has prevented them from truly grasping material to the fullest extent. With these new supplies, students have been able to practice more effectively in class and at home!
Students are so excited about being able to complete labs with more independence, because we have the paper needed to print all lab procedures! Students feel like scientists now that they are able to compile data into charts and graphs printed on the paper that you provided. Additionally, I have seen such boosts in confidence now that students are able to show their mastery on individual whiteboards!
Thank you so much for your continued support! It is donors like you that make learning possible in all circumstances!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Moore
