I have wonderful students from an at-risk population. They have a hard time believing that they are capable of going to college. When asked, many of them have a hard time envisioning a future. To see 14-16 year old students with very little hope is discouraging. They are so surprised sometimes when you show them you believe in their potential. There are tremendous possibilities within this population if they can be motivated to believe in what they can do!
