I teach at an arts school with students from diverse backgrounds with varying gifts and life experiences. Even in this diverse group, they share artistic giftedness in different core arts areas including: visual arts, vocal music, strings, piano, band, theater, and dance. Approximately 60 percent of the students I teacher are not only identified as artistically gifted, but also academically gifted. I also teach many students who are considered "twice exceptional," who are both gifted and have special learning needs in the classroom. This unique population requires a unique approach to teaching, and they definitely inspire my own creativity and thinking on a daily basis.
